Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts to Reopen 7 More Hotels in November and December

  • The company is making progress and confirms its plan of gradual reopenings through which it has managed to respond to demand.

  • Bahia Principe will soon have a total of 21 properties open for bookings in Spain, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Mexico. The reopening of 5 hotels in the Dominican Republic is a huge boost for the destination and a major contributing factor to the reactivation of employment on the island.

Palma de Mallorca (11 November 2021) – Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, the hotel division of Grupo Piñero with more than 20 years in the market, will reopen a total of 7 hotels before the end of the year (between November and December).

Over the last few months, the company has developed a gradual reopening plan that has allowed it to resume activity in its establishments, actively contributing to the recovery of the tourism sector. Accordingly, it has opted for a strategy of reopenings that responds to the demand of the different markets.

In addition, in parallel to the reopening plan, health and safety protocols have been established and adapted to each of the destinations, taking into account the social and health context at all times, always with the well-being of guests and employees as a priority.

In the words of Antonio Teijeiro, COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, “We are very pleased to be able to move forward and continue to confirm our reopening plan which, in these last two months of the year, means that we have 7 more hotels in operation. During this period of time, shaped by the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, we have pursued a conservative and progressive strategy.” He added, “As we expected, we are progressively recovering a certain degree of normality and contributing to reactivating the sector in the areas where we operate, with all that this entails in terms of the economy and the recovery of employment. Importantly, this last quarter, occupancy levels are, in some cases, higher than in 2019 for the same period of the year.”

These all-inclusive properties, five of which are located in the Dominican Republic, one in Mexico and one in Spain, range from activity-packed family resorts to exclusive and sophisticated adults-only enclaves, and offer first-rate services and amenities. These new reopenings bring Bahia Principe's total number of open properties to 21 hotels in Spain, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Mexico.

As of 1 November, the following have already opened their doors:

  • In Spain: Bahia Principe Sunlight San Felipe (Tenerife), completing the chain's total number of hotels operating in Spain.

  •  In Mexico: Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka'an, achieving full reactivation of the destination.

  • In the Dominican Republic: Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville, Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro and Bahia Principe Luxury Samana.

The Bahia Principe Grand Aquamarine is scheduled to open on 15 November: Guests of this hotel have access to the activities and services offered at all Grand hotels within the Bahia Principe Bavaro complex, including the Las Olas beachfront restaurants and the Sports Bar located at Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. In addition, the resort offers unlimited dining at more than 13 restaurants, including restaurants at other Grand Hotels in the resort.

Finally, the Bahia Principe Grand La Romana will be reopening on 15 December: This hotel is accessible from three international airports: La Romana, Punta Cana and Santo Domingo.
