Altia Develops App for Grupo Piñero’s Bahia Principe Residences Division

Palma de Mallorca, July 29, 2021 – Grupo Piñero, a Spanish tourism company with more than 40 years of history, has entrusted the Spanish consultancy firm Altia with the development of the app for owners and residents of its residential complexes in Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

This mobile app, whose main goal is to enhance the user experience, is available on Android and iOS and allows Bahia Principe Residences owners and users of the golf courses managed by the company through the Bahia Principe Golf division to have contactless access to the facilities.

In this way, users and residents can use their mobile devices to manage access permission for guests using QR codes, a procedure that until now had been carried out analogically. The app also facilitates and digitizes other services, such as consulting invoices or booking green fees at golf courses. It is estimated that, since its launch, 50,000 permissions will be handled this year, including access, golf course reservations, etc. Currently, 4,500 users are using the app, including residents of the Tulum (Mexico) and Romana (Dominican Republic) resorts, administrators and employees. In the medium term, use of the application is expected to reach 10,000 users.

Along with the mobile app, Altia has also created a back-office system that allows managing reservations and knowing in real time the occupancy level of the different golf courses that Grupo Piñero has in these residential complexes.

The app was developed by the Spanish consulting firm in Flutter, an open source framework for mobile apps created by Google, and has been operational since last February.

With the new app, Grupo Piñero improves the customer's experience when accessing the facilities by digitizing a series of processes that used to be carried out analogically. The contactless system helps to reduce the physical contact of users in the environments and facilities of Bahia Principe Residences in the context of a health crisis in which it is necessary to reduce the physical contact of users in the environments.

The consulting firm Altia has been a technological partner of Grupo Piñero for years and this project is the first mobility project they have carried out using the Flutter framework. The Spanish consulting firm will continue to accompany Grupo Piñero in its digital transformation process with future system evolutions based on IoT in the different residential complexes and golf courses.
