Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts heads into high season with 10% more bookings than last year and 15% more than in 2019
The increase is seen in all hotels and destinations of Grupo Piñero's Hotel Division
The destinations of Tenerife, Majorca and Punta Cana show the most favorable results in the Spanish market
Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, Grupo Piñero's hotel division, forecasts an increase in Easter bookings in 2023. The company's data confirms very good forecasts for all hotels and destinations, above its initial projection made at the end of 2022. Booking data as of this date in terms of bookings per room and average daily rate have increased by 10% compared to 2022 and 15% compared to 2019.
Considering all Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts destinations, the largest increases over last year were recorded in Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. In the Spanish market, the destinations of Tenerife, Majorca and Punta Cana show the most favorable results this Easter.
In the Canary Islands, specifically in Tenerife, the Hotel Division's occupancy and level of stays increased by 9% compared to the previous year. European markets, like the British, German and Dutch markets, are behaving favorably and there is even interest in the destination from the North American public.
Good prospects for the summer
Looking ahead to the summer season, Grupo Piñero is also experiencing a boom in bookings despite a tendency to book at the last minute, even in markets that used to book earlier, such as the UK. Specifically, Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts' bookings are 8% higher than in the summer of 2022, with the Canadian and U.S. markets showing the largest increases. Overall, all markets are performing positively.
Samaná, in the north of the Dominican Republic, is one of the destinations showing a good performance in bookings. There, Grupo Piñero will have a special summer operation through its tour operator Soltour, which will be completed by its hotel offer consisting of three resorts: Bahia Principe Grand el Portillo, Bahia Principe Grand Cayacoa and Bahia Principe Luxury Samana.
In addition, Grupo Piñero will open its first luxury resort in this region, Cayo Levantado Resort, located on the island of the same name, in June. With this resort, the Group brings its “Regenerating Luxury" concept, based on sustainable innovation and sophistication, to the high-end segment.
