Evergo and Grupo Piñero inaugurate new fast charging station in Playa Nueva Romana

Santo Domingo, November 1, 2023 - With the aim of offering sustainable solutions to residents and visitors to Playa Nueva Romana, Evergo, a leader in electric mobility solutions, and Grupo Piñero, through its Bahía Principe Residences division, are joining forces to take a significant step towards a cleaner and more sustainable future, inaugurating an innovative state-of-the-art charging station for electric and hybrid vehicles. 

The recently inaugurated Level 3 charger, better known as a "fast charger" due to its high capacity, is strategically located in the parking area of Bahia Mall, at the entrance of the real estate complex, and soon, at other points within the complex, thus forming a convenient charging network for owners, residents and visitors of Playa Nueva Romana, the fastest growing residential development in the Dominican Republic. 

The launch of these chargers is part of the firm commitment to sustainability of both companies and Grupo Piñero's corporate environmental, social responsibility and good governance policies, which include promoting more environmentally friendly mobility and reducing carbon emissions.

Evergo's charging stations are self-service, through an app available on the App Store and Google Play, through which users can track their charging in real time, pay through a virtual wallet and access the location map of the stations, among other features. 

Through this type of alliance, Evergo has managed to avoid the emission of more than 2.5 million kilograms of CO2 and stands out as the most innovative charging network in Latin America and the Caribbean. The new charging stations not only represent an advance in the development of electric mobility, but also enable a sustainable route connecting Santo Domingo to Playa Nueva Romana. Along this route, electric vehicle users will find strategic charging points at key locations, such as Las Américas International Airport (AILA), Boca Chica and San Pedro de Macorís. In addition, if they continue their trip on to Bavaro, drivers will find charging stations in places such as La Tiendita (Bayahibe) and the Coral I Tollbooth. 

This integrated approach ensures that electric vehicle users have the ability to follow an eco-friendly route from the city of Santo Domingo, connecting all the way to the eastern and northeastern region.
