Grupo Piñero Will Soon Be Open for Business as Usual in All Its Hotels in Mexico

  • The company is moving forward in its process of reactivation of normality, which will be completed by the end of the year, and with this opening it recovers full activity in the 4 hotels in this destination.

  • Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka'an is the Group's most exclusive and luxurious establishment in the privileged setting of the Rivera Maya.

Palma, 19 October 2021.- Grupo Piñero, a Spanish tourism company with more than 40 years of history, will reopen the doors of the Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka'an on 1 November, thus resuming full hotel operations in Mexico, one of its main destinations. The company has 4 establishments in the country, with a total of 3,236 rooms: Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal, Bahia Principe Grand Coba, Bahia Principe Grand Tulum and Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka’an.

The Group's commitment to the Riviera Maya in Mexico dates back to its origins more than 20 years ago, and is well established. In addition to the aforementioned establishments, the company also has an important luxury residential development in this destination: Tulum Country Club. Located in the Riviera Maya, the development sprawls over more than 1,400 acres and has more than 1,300 residences built around the spectacular PGA Riviera Maya Golf Course, designed by the prestigious architect Robert Trent Jones II. Grupo Piñero employs more than 2,000 people in Mexico, which is also the origin of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts as an international hotel chain.

In the words of Antonio Teijeiro, COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, “The reopening of Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka'an is undoubtedly great news, as it concludes the reactivation of the four hotels we have in Mexico, one of our core locations.” He also noted that “This destination has performed very well during 2020, especially for the American and domestic markets. This, together with the reactivation of other major markets like Canada and the general improvement in Latin America, allows us to undertake this reopening.”

Grupo Piñero thus continues to make progress in the plan of gradual reopenings that it had set for itself with the improvement of the health situation, in order to contribute to the recovery of the tourist trade. There has been much progress in this process over the last few months, and it is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Luxury and exclusivity on the Riviera Maya

The Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka'an hotel is located on the Riviera Maya, in the Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort, a complete complex made up of a total of four establishments in the heart of a jungle setting, surrounded by a luxury residential development and just a few yards away from the PGA Riviera Maya Golf Club. As it belongs to the Luxury category, the most exclusive of the chain, you can access the rest of the establishments, with more than 20 themed bars and restaurants, go shopping at La Hacienda Doña Isabel or play golf on the spectacular course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, among many other things.

With 420 rooms, it offers guests a luxurious adults-only experience in a unique setting. This hotel, the most exclusive of the entire complex, stands out for its size and architectural design, which is ideal for letting yourself be enveloped by the wild nature of the Mayan jungle.

In its commitment to responsible tourism, Grupo Piñero has adapted its standards to the new hygienic-sanitary needs derived from the pandemic in collaboration with HS Consulting, to guarantee the well-being of its clients and employees. The company thus ensures compliance with the regulations of each of the countries and destinations where it operates, as well as WHO recommendations and the protocols of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE).
