Grupo Piñero reaffirms its commitment to solidarity with social actions in Spain and the Caribbean

  • Through its various business units and brands, the company has developed more than ten social initiatives during the month of December.

  • The most noteworthy actions include the signing of collaboration agreements with different educational centers at the destination for the refurbishment of their facilities and collaboration with associations and foundations in each of the countries in which it is present.

Palma, December 19, 2022.- Grupo Piñero, a Spanish tourism company with almost 50 years of history, once again joins the International Human Solidarity Day celebration, which takes place every year on December 20. In line with its commitment as a responsible company and its contribution to the development of the communities in which it operates, on this occasion Grupo Piñero commemorates the date in a special way, and beyond the development of actions related to this specific day, the company has materialized its commitment with the implementation of various social initiatives in collaboration with hospitals, schools and foundations throughout the month of December in the different destinations in which it operates.

Thus, with the aim of promoting collaboration and encouraging the most generous and compassionate side of its collaborators, the corporate headquarters, located in Mallorca, organized several campaigns to collect food, clothes and toys in favor of local charitable organizations. Specifically, the beneficiary entities of these donations will be Mallorca Sense Fam and Caritas. Also from its headquarters, Grupo Piñero  has collaborated with Fundación La Caixa in a new edition of the ‘Tree of Dreams’ ('El árbol de los sueños') initiative, which aims to help children in vulnerable situations receive a gift this Christmas.

For its part, the Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje (Tenerife) hotel hosted a Solidarity Gala to benefit different associations in the south of the island. Specifically, the Spanish Association Against Cancer (‘Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer‘) and the 'Include Me' ('Inclúyeme') association received donations to help those most in need. In addition, the staff of the Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife and Sunlight Costa Adeje hotels, taking advantage of the celebration of children's parties held at the hotels, participated in the toy collection drive organized by the 'Pequeño Valiente' association, an organization that supports families of children with cancer.

Committed to solidarity at all the destinations

In parallel to these initiatives, Grupo Piñero has extended its commitment to the different countries in which it operates. The teams at each of its Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, Bahia Principe Residences and Bahia Principe Golf, as well as its destination service brands such as Coming2, Solbus and Scubaquatic, have joined forces, along with several of their collaborators, to develop more than a dozen social initiatives in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Jamaica.

In the Dominican Republic, we worked with different associations, such as Fundación Pasos de Inclusión or Asociación Asoleste, as well as several schools and educational centers in different areas of the country, participating in various Christmas celebrations and popular festivities aimed at enabling the most vulnerable to enjoy these special dates. The initiatives included the delivery of school supplies to some of these centers and the collaboration with the El Cortecito School (Bavaro), which has contributed to the improvement of its facilities.

In Mexico, Grupo Piñero also took part in various Christmas initiatives. For example, professionals from the different brands helped raise funds for the Teleton Mexico Foundation, as well as offering unforgettable moments to children and families in the country, assisting in the organization of parties and decorating some areas with Christmas motifs.

At the same time, in Jamaica, Grupo Piñero collaborated in the improvement of the facilities of St Ann's Bay Hospital by renovating and remodeling several of its rooms.

In the words of Antonia del Toro, Grupo Piñero's ESG Director: “Benefiting the most vulnerable groups in the areas where we operate is a source of great satisfaction for us, because we give them the opportunity to improve their well-being, to enjoy a good quality of life and to develop their communities. For yet another year, we are strengthening our social responsibility strategy with the continuity of some initiatives and the creation of new ones that are in line with the reality and needs of those most in need. We will continue on this path to multiply our impact and see more smiling faces.”
