Palma, June 26, 2023.- Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts has just started the summer season and is seeing high occupancy levels and sales growth. It has an overall occupancy rate of 91% for the season in Spain and a remarkable 81% in the global market.
The desire to continue traveling has not been curbed, as reflected in data from Grupo Piñero's hotel division, which is seeing an 8% increase in sales compared to last year for the Spanish market and 6% for the global market. According to Lluisa Salord, SVP Global Sales, Contracting and Distribution, "These data reflect the good moment that Spanish tourism is experiencing and the good performance of both domestic and foreign demand, which continues to bet on travel, regardless of the fact that we are in a context of inflation."
In the case of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, the source markets that have registered the greatest growth in demand with respect to 2022 are the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and France for the Spanish market. However, the top three outbound markets for our country are the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain.
Globally, markets are changing and, although the United States, Europe and Canada are the main outbound markets, the number of Latin American travelers is expected to grow compared to 2022.
In line with these figures, the destinations with the highest demand are Tenerife (in Spain) and the Dominican Republic (overall) with the Samaná region and La Romana as the destinations that will grow the most with respect to 2022 thanks to the increase in flights by Soltour, a tour operator that also belongs to Grupo Piñero.
