Grupo Piñero reopens the Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje in Tenerife

  • Grupo Piñero continues with its reopening plan in all the destinations where it operates. The company has resumed operations at 12 of its 25 hotels.

Palma, July 26, 2021. After a season marked by restrictions and the health crisis caused by Covid-19, Grupo Piñero, a Spanish tourism company with more than 40 years of history, has reopened today the doors of the Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje in Tenerife. The establishment, located in the municipality of Adeje, in the south of Tenerife, is the second to resume activity on the island, after a period of instability and uncertainty in the European outbound markets and in view of the good prospects for bookings from August onwards.

The Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje hotel opens the season with a good performance in terms of bookings, due to the lifting of restrictions in the United Kingdom and the surge in demand from the Spanish market.

Grupo Piñero currently has twelve establishments open: five in the Dominican Republic, three in Mexico, one in Jamaica and three in Spain.

Grupo Piñero continues to move forward with the plan to reactivate hotel activity in a staggered manner, guaranteeing compliance with safety and sanitary protocols to safeguard the health and well-being of its clients and employees. A Bahia Principe app has been made available to guests so that they can enhance their experience during their stay. Through this application, they can consult and book different leisure proposals for both adults and children or schedule meals at the hotel's different restaurants.

In the words of Antonio Teijeiro, COO of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, “We are very pleased to be able to announce the reopening of our second hotel in Tenerife, Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje, in line with our planned schedule and in view of the strong demand from important markets for the island, such as the domestic and British markets. We are witnessing a gradual recovery in the tourism sector, one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic. The desire to travel and the good pace of vaccinations make us optimistic, but we continue to work every day to guarantee a safe environment for our guests and employees, and to do our bit for the full recovery of our sector.”

The Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje Hotel has 510 rooms and boasts three swimming pools, including an infinity pool that allows guests to gaze out over the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel also offers multiple organized activities for children and adults, as well as a wide variety of culinary offerings.

Grupo Piñero, in collaboration with HS Consulting, has adapted its standards to the new hygienic-sanitary needs brought about by the pandemic in all its business units. The aim is to provide a safe environment for all guests and employees, ensuring compliance with the regulations of each of the countries and destinations where it operates, as well as WHO recommendations and the protocols of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality (ICTE).
