Encarna Piñero Participates in the IX Benidorm Tourism Conference

The event, organized by AVE, AEFA Alicante, APD, Alicante Chamber of Commerce, CEV Alicante, EDEM and HOSBEC, brought together 400 businessmen and executives who analyzed the current situation of tourism, as well as highlighting the value of this sector as the country's economic driver.

Palma de Mallorca, June 10, 2022.- Encarna Piñero, CEO of Grupo Piñero, participated as a speaker at the ninth edition of the Benidorm Tourism Conference, #eresturismo, held on Thursday, June 9 in Benidorm and organized by AVE, AEFA Alicante, APD, Cámara Alicante, CEV Alicante, EDEM and HOSBEC.

Inaugurated by Vicente Boluda, president of AVE, the encounter analyzed from different perspectives, and through the testimonies of spokespersons from leading companies, the current situation and perspectives of tourism, as well as the important role played by this sector as a key element for the economy of the Valencian Autonomous Region and of Spain as a whole.

During her intervention, in a dialog with Adolfo Utor, president of Balearia, Encarna Piñero focused on some of the keys that have led the company to position itself as one of the leading groups in the international tourism industry.  In this regard, and taking into account the current complex context, she stressed that “our sector is facing a great common challenge. A challenge that needs all the actors of the tourism sector, both public and private, in order to overcome it, namely, to be able to revitalize tourism activity. The only way to achieve this is through the economic, inclusive and sustainable growth of tourism and, consequently, it will allow us to position it as an engine of development and a generator of wealth.

During the conversation, Utor, for his part, recalled the figure of Pablo Piñero, founder of the group, whom he referred to as “a visionary entrepreneur who has left us an exemplary legacy.

Fernando Trías de Bes, economist and writer; David Rico, director of Hotels & Tourism at CaixaBank; Quique Dacosta, nationally and internationally renowned chef and holder of three Michelin stars; Raúl Martín, corporate director of Production, People and Systems at Grupo Martínez and CEO of KM ZERO Food Innovation Hub; Miguel Ángel Cintas, CEO of Atribus, Pilar Crespo, responsible for Spain and Portugal at Booking.com and Sara Sánchez, CEO of Rusticae, completed the panel of speakers at the conference, which was attended by more than 400 businesspeople and executives.
